| ![]() Rev. Caroline Kendall MurphyCaroline is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was educated at Yale University, receiving her B.A. in German, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1983. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, spending 1983-1984 at Augsburg University, in Germany. Caroline returned to Yale Divinity School and the Institute of Sacred Music, receiving her Master of Divinity in 2000. The entire Pastoral Search Committee feels that Caroline brings many unique gifts to her ministry. Her sermons are inspiring, relevant, and thoughtful. She has a calming pastoral presence, great enthusiasm, indomitable spirit, and a strong sense of call to pastor our church family. Ordained through the United Church of Christ in October 2001, Rev. Murphy served the West Yarmouth Congregational Church on Cape Cod as Pastor for six years. She has also served several local churches in an interim capacity, including United Church on the Green in New Haven and First Congregational in Cheshire. Caroline has been a guest at our pulpit several times over the past two years. Caroline has been living in New Haven for several years and is looking forward to moving into our parsonage and becoming a member of the Bethany Community. Caroline's special interests include fostering spiritual development, creating educational opportunities for all ages, and exploring the interconnections between worship and the arts. In her free time Caroline enjoys choral singing, English country dancing, hiking, and reading. |
